NHS Northwick Park
NHS Northwick Park
Project Description:
The new 32-bed short-stay ward has been constructed above London’s busiest A&E department, in one of the most complex, yet fastest programmes.
A total of 32 structural steel modules manufactured offsite were used to construct the new ward, utilising Europe’s heaviest lifting tower crane to allow seamless operation of the existing A&E; a feat which would have arguably been impossible using traditional construction methods. The site team worked collaboratively with London North West Healthcare NHS Trust to progress the build programme as swiftly and as safely as possible, adopting Modern Methods of Construction to ensure minimal disruption to existing patient pathways with zero downtime.
We’re delighted to have created a building that will ultimately enhance the quality of care provided to patients at Northwick Park, as part of an NHS England initiative to meet the growing demands for general and acute beds across the country.
